About the Author Self-proclaimed 'World's Greatest Compressionist' Ben Waggoner compressed his first video file in 1989. He co-founded Journeyman Post in 1994, becoming one of the nation's first full-time compressionists. He later founded Terran Interactive's consulting services division and subsequently the consulting and workflow automation services for Media 100. Ben now runs his own video compression consulting, training, and encoding company - advising clients on technology, automation, and integration issues. He is a regular presenter at industry conferences and contributes to industry publications such as DV magazine. Ben lives with his wife, son, and many, many computers in Portland, Ore., where he finds the weather very conducive to staring at computer screens. |
