About author

Leo Laporte is the former host of two shows on TechTVThe Screen Savers and Call for Help. Leo is a weekend radio host on Los Angeles radio KFI AM 640 and co-hosts Call for Help on Canada's TechTV network. He also appears regularly on many other television and radio programs, including ABC's World News Now and Live with Regis and Kelly as "The Gadget Guy." He is the author of four recent bestsellers: Leo Laporte's 2005 Gadget Guide, Leo Laporte's Mac Gadget Guide, Leo Laporte's Guide to TiVo, and Leo Laporte's 2005 Technology Almanac.

Mark Edward Soper has taught computer troubleshooting and other technical subjects to thousands of students from Maine to Hawaii since 1992.

He is a longtime contributor to Upgrading and Repairing PCs, working on the 11th through 16th Editions.
