This monograph presents a systematic treatment of the theory for hyperbolic conservation laws and their applications to vehicular traffics and crowd dynamics. In the first part of the book, the author presents very basic considerations and gradually introduces the mathematical tools necessary to describe and understand the mathematical models developed in the following parts focusing on vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The book is a self-contained valuable resource for advanced courses in mathematical modeling, physics and civil engineering. A number of examples and figures facilitate a better understanding of the underlying concepts and motivations for the students. Important new techniques are presented, in particular the wave front tracking algorithm, the operator splitting approach, the non-classical theory of conservation laws and the constrained problems. This book is the first to present a comprehensive account of these fundamental new mathematical advances.
Working with Microsoft FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint
Should you care about search? The answer is “Yes!” However, the reason you should
care constantly changes. Back in 1997 when FAST was founded, most people
viewed search as a mature and commoditized technology. AltaVista was the leader
in web search and Verity had won the enterprise search race. Internet...
Algorithms Sequential and Parallel: A Unified Approach
A major thrust of computer science is the design, analysis, implementation, and scicntific
evaluation of algorithms to solve critical problems. In addition, new challenges are being
offered to computer scientists in the field of computational science and engineering, which
includes challenging problems in computational biology,...
Database Solutions: A step by step guide to building databases (2nd Edition) The second edition of this book incorporates two relational database design methodologies to teach readers how databases can be implemented in Microsoft Access and Oracle. Not only does the book provide a comprehensive methodology for relational database design, but the authors also show readers how to use the latest installation of UML. Fifteen...
Cambridge Self Scoring IQ Test In recent years researchers have learned that the brain, which is devided into left and right hemispheres, has assigned different mental tasks to one side or the other. Highly intelligent people use both their left and right brain in equal balance. Most people, becase of social emphasis, schooling and parental training are left-brain dominant! Thay... Pro (IBM) WebSphere Application Server 7 Internals Pro (IBM) WebSphere Application Server 7 Internals covers the internal architecture and implementation of the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) version 7 product set and how other IBM products extend it. It presents information to enable administrators, developers, and architects to learn about the aspects of WAS that apply to them:
