| This is a book about Photoshop 7. Photoshop is Adobe’s venerable imageediting software, the darling of creative professionals everywhere. With Photoshop, you can prepare artwork for print and the Web, create and edit pixel-based graphics, repair damaged photographs, apply special effects, and convert graphics files from one format to another. In fact, there is very little that you can’t do in Photoshop.
This book explores the essential features of Photoshop 7. Other guides may catalogue every button, switch and menu command, and still others maybe guile you with vivid colour images, but this book doesn’t need the excess clutter. It goes right to the heart of the matter. It assumes nothing, providingtheory and practice in good measure towards a thorough understanding of Photoshop’s capabilities. You can go into this guide a graphics novice and come out a competent, capable Photoshop user.
I can say these things about the book because I’m not the original author. My task was to update the existing material to bring it in line with the latest Photoshop release. If you’re familiar with the previous book, you’ll notice a number of changes just by thumbing through this new edition. I tried to preserve the spirit of the earlier edition as completely as possible, though, so I hope that reading this book is like reacquainting oneself with an old friend. |
